Handmade Christmas Gifts

To me one of the most fascinating and exciting things to receive for Christmas is homemade Christmas ornaments. I have envisioned many times that I would to be able to give each of my friends in entire set of homemade Christmas ornaments to decorate their tree. But that would be hundreds of ornaments to make. I guess that is all the more reason to determine that it's never too early to start making homemade Christmas crafts. It would be relatively easy to make a set of 12 ornaments for one friend and then start a different set of homemade Christmas ornaments for the next friend.

Of course all handmade Christmas gifts are not going to be ornaments.

I love everything about the handmade Christmas jar gifts too. You know the ones with the homemade cookie dough recipe inside and the jar decorated very festively for Christmas. You could also fill the jar with a healthier choice of things like soups, lentils or rice recipes. Anything that has a number of dry ingredients that can be layered in the the jar. Items that contain color look nice. I like making the those gifts, receiving those gifts and especially preparing and eating those handmade Christmas gifts!

Another great idea for a handmade Christmas gift is making doggie treats for your friends that have a furry friend. Or you can try your hand at making soap or candles and putting together a gift basket. Another option might be making candle melts from leftover candle wax. There are some very inexpensive Christmas craft kits that you can curchase to even have your children help in making handmade Crristmas gifts. And if you're up to making entire gift sets for friends and family why not just make and send a Christmas card. Christmas cards can be an entire hobby by itself. It is a lot like scrap booking. Speaking of scrapbooking, why not put together a memory album and present that to a beloved family member this year... talk about a great handmade Christmas gift!

Any time of year would be a great time of year to start putting these items together and organizing the production of making your handmade Christmas gifts. Come and join me over at Creative Crafts and Stickers and follow along. I already posted a wonderful video and written tutorial fo making some homemade paper Christmas ornaments that has gotten me motivated.

I Am Making Christmas Decorations This Year

I have seen a lot of recent articles talking about vintage Christmas crafts and getting starting on making your handmade Christmas gifts now. It would seem that any time is a great time to get organized and start planning. I guess there is something like 120 some day left left between now and Christmas. I know I have a lot planned for this upcoming holiday season. My craft room is going to be buzzing with activity building homemade Christmas Ornaments and making Christmas decorations.

I know that I am planning to write up a lot of tutorials this year regarding homemade Christmas ornaments. I am putting the first one together tomorrow. I am actually a little bit nervous about it, but it is fun pastime for me so what the heck.

Tomorrow's video will be how to build some paper Christmas ornaments. I will be featuring a paper snowflake ornament. And I am not talking about those flat ones that kindergarteners make. These are a bit more elaborative. I am still trying to determine how I will be able to store them though. I post my tutorials on a great creative crafts site that allows others to post directly to their site.

No Time Like The Present for Homemade Christmas Crafts

It is never too early to start planning for the Christmas season, is it?  Planning and preparing with enough time to complete all of your desired homemade Christmas crafts can take quite the orchestration sometimes. Homemade Christmas crafts items are starting to pop up in stores all over the world as merchants do their "planning."

Here are some other takes on timing which I found in a recent article.
It’s the summer holidays but shops are already getting festive.
With 130 days until Christmas, Preston’s shops are looking towards December and have already started stocking festive goods.
According to a survey by Retail Eyes, one in six shoppers has started their Christmas shopping this year.
August and September are popular months for organised shoppers who enjoy making their own cards, gifts and decorations. A spokesman for Hobbycraft, Deepdale Shopping Park, said it is expecting a delivery of festive-themed stock next week.

The excerpts above is from Do they know it is not Christmas time at all?

I guess as far as I am concerned it really is never too early for at least coming up with homemade Christmas crafts Ornament Ideas.

Homemade Christmas Crafts: Beaded Ornament

It looks like some other creative craft lovers are starting to write about Homemade Christmas Crafts and Ornament Ideas already too. Here are some more great ideas to start getting ready for the holidays.  Keep sending more ornament ideas. Many will be featured this year as we get closer to the holidays

Bead and Pipe Cleaner Ornaments

Christmas objects made from ordinary pipe cleaners and inexpensive acrylic beads are very pretty and easy to make. They look quite impressive but only needs a basic level of skill for small children to make. This is one Christmas craft idea to use again and again. Older people will enjoy making this Christmas craft, too, which can be varied to make a number of different sparkling ornaments for your Christmas tree.

A beautiful homemade ornament makes a perfect handmade Christmas gift. And when it is made with love like most handmade Christmas gifts are, it is sure to be a keepsake for those that receive such a heart filled gift. Making these items is very easy. As our friend from the article says...

Anyone, even small children, can string these beads on pipe cleaners. Bead and pipe cleaner ornaments are a Christmas craft you will find yourself using every year. Children and their parents will both appreciate this simple yet pretty Christmas craft.
